Power and Lap Counter . . . . next page

Power

Power is brought to the track via a pre-wired Power Section that is now available in most any length straight piece, which you then wire to the controller panel and power supply. The old style is shown at the left; our new power piece shown on the right blends right in with your track.

Lap Counter

WE NO LONGER OFFER SECTIONS TO ACCOMODATE REED SWITCHES
or DEAD STRIPS IN FAVOR OF USING MORE MODERN SYSTEMS.

Optional sensor holes for TrackMate LEDs can be made on any straight.

We no longer make these 2 styles of lap counter sections: One type is the "dead" strip, an isolated section made within an 18" straight. The other type of lap counter section is the reed switch. Here 2 pockets are milled on the inside of each power rail to accept your reed switches.

The "dead" section works with any cars, where the reed switches work best with traction magnet cars. Both are older systems; today the modern timing/scoring systems use LEDs and sensors, described below.

A 3rd type of lap counter section uses a light bridge over the track and sensors mounted next to the power rails. For this type of lap counter, we leave the installation of the sensors up to you. For a small fee, we can drill holes in the track for your TrackMate-style sensors.
